The details
Full Birth Doula Package: In the 4 prenatal visits (each visit is ~2 hrs) we spend time exploring any and all questions you (and your birth team) have about pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. We also discuss your birth plan and preferences to ensure we are doing what we can to give you the experience you desire. I spend one visit supporting you in preparations for your postpartum season, making sure everything is lined up for when the baby is here.
In the postpartum visits (each visit is 2-4 hours), I give you support in whatever way you need at the time. This support may include insight into your physical healing process, sleep options, support with feeding, assessing the family unit’s wellbeing, making meals, baby care, and listening to you share your story. One of the postpartum visits is designated to you telling your birth story, with or without input or comments from me. I offer to record this so you have an audio story of your experience, told from your freshly postpartum perspective.
In the Light Birth Doula Package, the emphasis is on the birth itself. Best suited for those who feel confident with their birth options and have a strong postpartum support plan. The first prenatal visit is dedicated to planning for your postpartum period and in the second prenatal visit we discuss your desires and plans for your birth and how I can best support you to have the experience you want. In the postpartum visit (2 - 2.5 hrs) I check in with you, we discuss your birth story, and I offer any additional resources you may need going forward.
Continuous labor and birth support means I arrive whenever you are ready for me and stay with you until a couple hours after baby is born. Let’s talk more about what exactly the support looks like in labor.
